FAMILY FUN DAY 2006

We had a really super day out at Frylands for Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, and parents.
Some parents said that this was the best day out that they had with the Group.
We started with a Tug-of-War to break the ice and get everyone acquainted.

The parents first ...

... and then the children.

The Water Gate
A task was set to create a flag using natural materials. It could be a flag from a country or a made up flag.

Our Site
There were so many different ideas.

Beryl pulling hard
The results were fantastic!

Sedan chair race
We also made a footballer out of staves and anything else we could find. It had to be able to kick and move around the pitch.

Tug of War
This one was called Rooney.

Then we had a shooting competition.

The Scout's tent
In the afternoon, after a rather delicious BBQ, there were lots of bases: apple bobbing, penalty shoot-out, horseshoe throwing, biscuit decorating, wellie throwing and peg bashing.

Tug of War
Jo (Cub leader) shows us how it's done.

Tug of War
Everyone had two turns and improved on the second go.

The Village Fete
Preparing herself for the penalty ...

Penalty
... and Barry waits nervously.

The Earth Gate
Three very happy relaxed leaders at the end of a really good day.
